JEE Main 2025

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) comprises of two papers. Paper 1 is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B. Tech) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions/ Universities funded/ recognized by participating State Governments, as well as an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs.

The Paper 2 is conducted for admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses in the Country.

Important Dates

JEE Main 2025 will be conducted by National Testing Agency in January and April 2025. Online registration for JEE Main exam 2025 will start in November 2024.

JEE Main is held in 2 sessions. Session 1 is held in January and session 2 is conducted in April.

  • Start date of JEE registration: November 2024
  • Last date to apply: December 2024
  • Exam date: January 2025 and April 2025
  • Result: One or two weeks after the exam

Scheme of Examination

Paper 1 (B.E. /B. Tech.) is conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only. The paper consists of Objective Type - Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) & Questions for
which answer is a numerical value, with equal weightage to Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry.

Subjects: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry

Each Subject has two sections. Section A is Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B contains Questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value. In Section B, you have to attempt any five questions out of 10. There is no negative marking for Section B.

In MCQs, correct answer will give you four marks (+4) while incorrect answer will give you minus one mark (-1).

Class 12 passed and appearing students can apply for the NTA Joint Entrance Exam (Main).
